When can I request bins?
No future application periods have been scheduled at this time.
Does KAB or Coca Cola also arrange to collect cans and bottles?
No. The Bin Grant program is designed to provide bins to local organizations that will make their own arrangements to have recyclable cans and bottles collected and recycled.

Does submitting an application automatically guarantee we will receive bins?
No. Grant are awarded on a competitive basis.
How many bins may we request?
There is no cap to the number of bins that can be requested, however,
suggested ranges are provided alongside each type of bin on the Available
Recycling Bins. These ranges indicate the likely size of most grants, but
do not preclude larger awards. Applicants should provide the total number desired
and indicate on the form whether they are willing to accept a smaller award.
May I request more than one type of bin?
No. Grant awards are restricted to one type of bin per application.
I already have a recycling program in place for my venue/event? Can I still
apply?
Yes. Eligible activities include but are not limited to establishing
or enhancing an existing recycling collection program that includes the use of specialized
containers at community events or functions, public facilities and programs or events.
Why does the grant award bins instead of money?
By providing bins instead of money, this program meets several
underlying goals. Choosing specific recycling bins and internally arranging for
their distribution, the KAB and Coca-Cola are able to leverage their purchasing
power to provide more recycling bins than would be possible if selected grant recipients
were to use monetary awards to purchase independently. By taking care of the bin
purchases, the program allows grantees to better spend their time designing and
implementing recycling programs.
Who can apply?
The grant program is open to government agencies, religious and civic organizations, schools, universities and non-profit groups. For-profit companies are not eligible to receive grants, however partnerships between eligible applicants and for-profit companies are acceptable as long as the application is submitted in the eligible partners name.
Can bins be used for paper or other types of recyclables?
The grant is intended to promote beverage container recycling.
The bins provided will be designed to best meet this goal.
